Both Celtics and NBA Champion, Bill Russell died ‘peacefully’ at the age of 88, his family confirmed and told reporters that he had passed away.
According to the news, the NBA legend Bill Russell who was also a 11-time NBA champion with the Boston Celtics and the first Black head coach in the league, passed away “peacefully”.
His family released a statement from his verified Twitter account saying that the 88 year old was gone.
“It is with a very heavy heart we would like to pass along to all of Bill’s friends, fans, & followers,” the statement reads.
