Jarod Feilen, 25, arrested for handing out gummy bears to kids on Halloween that may have been contaminated with cannabis after claiming that he “ran out of candy,” according to police and a local report.
Chicago Heights police said Jarod distributed several bags containing gummy bears smelling of marijuana, according to Fox 32 Chicago. Police said a parent first alerted officers that her 4-year-old daughter’s bag contained gummies with a marijuana odor.

A Cook County drug-sniffing dog reacted to the gummies as if they were contaminated with THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. Police are awaiting results from the crime lab.
Jarod is now charged with five counts of child endangerment.
