Robbie Coltrane, who is famous for his roles in the James Bond films, Cracker and Harry Potter died aged 72.
Harry Potter star who played the beloved Rubeus Hagrid, died after a lengthy illness, his agent shared on Friday 14th October in Larbert, Scotland. The actor’s agent Belinda Wright said he died Friday at a hospital and she did not give a cause.
In her statement about his death according to Hindustan Times, Belinda Wright said that, “as well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent, brilliantly witty and after 40 years of being proud to be called his agent, I shall miss him.” She added that Coltrane is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his ex-wife Rhona Gemmell and his children Spencer and Alice.
In addition to the Harry Potter franchise, Coltrane also appeared in two James Bond films, 1995’s Golden Eye and 1999’s The World Is Not Enough as well as in the British detective series Crackers.
Many of his former colleagues have paid tribute to the fallen star with many sending in messages on their social media accounts according to ENEWS
